Pressure Enthalpy Without Tears

Course Description

This program presents the important concepts of pressure enthalpy in a manner that will appeal to the service technician such as:

  • Saturated refrigerant region
  • Subcooled liquid region
  • Superheated vapor region

Each refrigerant has its own states and their individual properties while in a particular state. The Pressure Enthalpy chart allows us to see a “snapshot” of the entire system. With this “snapshot” we can evaluate the major system components:

  • Evaporator coil
  • Condenser coil
  • Metering device
  • Compressor

Pressure Enthalpy Chart Explained

The pressure enthalpy chart allows us to follow along thru the system showing the heat rejection process in the condenser coil as well as the evaporative process in the evaporator coil also. To be able to show the exact amount of BTU loss and BTU gain as the refrigerant travels through a given system will help the HVAC technician understand the importance of this course.
