Champion Technician Institute’s Refrigeration Fundamentals & Troubleshooting course is designed to introduce students to the basics of the refrigeration cycle and the importance of airflow in the system.
Terms used in HVAC/R and troubleshooting scenarios will be covered. Students will come away from this course with a better understanding of how the refrigeration cycle works and how to troubleshoot potential problems within it. Additionally, students will learn about BTU’s relation to tonnage, and information regarding sensible and latent heat.
Students will gain an understanding of refrigeration troubleshooting by hands-on training with common refrigeration issues such as broken coolant systems. Students will also troubleshoot airflow problems in HVAC systems, such as faulty fan motors and clogged coils. Hands-on training is essential for HVAC training programs, as they allow students to apply their knowledge in a controlled setting where they can receive feedback from trained instructors.
By the end of the course, students will have a better understanding of how refrigeration works and be able to apply this knowledge as HVAC technicians.
Students who complete this course will receive a certificate of completion.
